§ Mr. BoswellTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy what arrangements he intends to make to meet the costs of the public inquiry he has announced into the Piper Alpha disaster.
§ Mr. ParkinsonParliamentary approval for this new service will be sought in a Supplementary Supply Estimate for the Department of Energy's Class VI, Vote 3. Pending that approval, urgent expenditure incurred by my Department in connection with the public inquiry of up to £500,000 will be met by a repayable advance from the Contingencies Fund.
