HC Deb 21 July 1988 vol 137 c772W
Mr. Alton

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has to make available integrated school places for all the children who would like to attend such a school.

Dr. Mawhinney

The recent consultation document on education reform in Northern Ireland contains proposals which would offer a further avenue for the expression of parental wishes for integrated education, in the form of grant-maintained integrated schools. In addition, I recently approved grant-aided voluntary maintained status, from 1 August 1988, for Hazelwood college, Belfast, All Children's integrated primary school, Newcastle, and Bridge primary school, Banbridge; I have also approved an extension to four-form entry for Lagan college, Belfast.
