HC Deb 20 July 1988 vol 137 c680W
40. Mr. Key

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from English Heritage about its plans to enhance facilities at Stonehenge; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moynihan

The chairman of English Heritage has kept us regularly in touch with his plans as they have developed. Officials of the Department have been helping English Heritage identify options for providing access to the proposed new visitor centre, in discussion with the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Transport and the county council. English Heritage now needs to reach agreement in principle with MoD and any private landowners affected on the best choice of route.
