Dr. ThomasTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he possesses on the final report of the European Parliament's special committee of inquiry into the handling and transport of nuclear waste and nuclear materials in the EEC; and whether the report contains any information or recommendations pertinent to his Departmental policy on the management of nuclear wastes.
§ Mr. MoynihanThe report of the European Parliament's special committee of inquiry into the Mol/Transnuklear affair was produced earlier this month and the Department has been notified of its recommendations. The European Commission is expected to formulate proposals in response to the committee's findings shortly. We shall consider these when they arise.
