To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will update to 31 March the information on thermal energy generated and spent fuel discharged by the Hunterston A station given in the reply to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy on 23 July 1987,Official Report, column 368.

I am advised by the South of Scotland Electricity Board that during the financial year 1987–88 the thermal output of Hunterston A was 8,865,350.4 MWh (thermal) and 72.69 tonnes of fuel were discharged.
