§ Mr. ScottCentral data on certain services for people with disabilities are collected annually by means of statistical returns issued to each of the local authority social services departments in England. The returns are subject to validation procedures to check that the overall quality of data is within acceptable limits. The coverage of the statistical returns is reviewed regularly in consultation with representatives of the local authorities.
