§ Mrs. RoeThe statutory requirements for tenant consultation where a local authority proposes to dispose of tenanted housing are set out in section 6 and schedule 1 of the Housing and Planning Act 1986. These provisions will apply to disposals to registered housing associations once part I of the Housing Bill comes into effect. In the meantime. my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has stated that he will not expect to give consent to a disposal unless the local authority has followed the procedures set out in those provisions.
