HC Deb 20 July 1988 vol 137 cc688-9W
88. Ms. Short

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how he intends to exercise his overall responsibility for policy on chlorofluorocarbons in relation to the use of chlorofluorocarbon-related products and the protection of the ozone layer, the needs of developing countries, the ecosystem's conservation requirements and export potential.

Mr. Moynihan

As indicated in my right hon. Friend's answer to the hon. Member for Linlithgow (Mr. Dalyell) on 20 June, at column608, the Department of the Environment consults other Government Departments on policy matters relating to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and the protection of the ozone layer. The Department also has regular meetings with the industries representing producers and users of CFCs.
