§ Mr. Tim SmithTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how many unsolicited communications of a circular nature he has received from Lonrho plc in 1986, 533W 1987 and 1988 to date; whether he has received any representations from hon. Members or others about these circulars; and if he will introduce regulations to prohibit expenditure on such circulars unless specifically provided for in the articles of association of any plc.
§ Mr. MaudeRecords are not maintained which would enable identification of the numbers of such unsolicited communications. However, I have received representations both from hon. Members and from others about certain circular communications issued by Lonrho and relating to House of Fraser. I have no plans to introduce regulations relating to expenditure on such documents.
