To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) how many contracts for sums in excess of £100,000 were let by the Housing Executive in the financial year 1982–83 for (a) erection of dwellings, and (b) other capital works; of these, how many in each category have not yet had a final certificate issued; and how many of such contracts in each category were referred to arbitration;

(2) how many contracts for sums in excess of £100,000 were let by the Housing Executive in the financial year 1981–82 for (a) erection of dwellings, and (b) other capital works; of these, how many in each category have not yet had a final certificate issued; and how many of such contracts in each category were referred to arbitration.

[holding answer 22 June 1988]: This is a matter for the chairman of the Housing Executive who has informed me that information was not recorded in the form requested until 1986–87 and could be compiled only at disproportionate cost.
