To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in theOfficial Report the numbers of places in secure provision available in each district health authority.

The numbers of mental illness and mental handicap beds in secure accommodation in district health authorities at the end of 1986 are given in the table.

Latest available information relating to permanent regional secure units was provided in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Cheltenham (Mr. Irving) on 12 April at columns 111–12.
