To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give(a) the terms of reference of the working party on bovine spongiform encephalopathy and (b) the names and occupations of the members of the working party.

The terms of reference of the working party are to advise on the implications of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and matters relevant thereto. Sir Richard Southwood, Professor of Zoology a t Oxford University, is chairing the working party.

The other members are Dr. W. B. Martin, ex-Director of the Animal Diseases Research Association, Moredun institute, Edinburgh, Professor M. A. Epstein, Nuffield department of clinical medicine, John Radcliffe hospital, university of Oxford, and Sir John Walton, President of the General Medical Council.
