HC Deb 18 July 1988 vol 137 c429W
Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what specific regional factors are taken into account when inland customs clearance depot status is determined; and what specific regional factors are taken into account in determining section 8 grants.

Mr. David Mitchell

[holding answer 12 July 1988]: I have been asked to reply.

The regional factors to be taken into account by customs when approving an inland customs clearance depot have not been defined. Each case is considered on its merits and any regional considerations put forward would be taken fully into account.

The criteria for awarding section 8 grants are the same throughout Great Britain.
