HC Deb 15 July 1988 vol 137 c388W
Mr. Menzies Campell

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has had in connection with the establishment of a rail halt at Wormit; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Since June 1987 one representation has been received about the provision of a rail halt at Wormit.

Responsibility for providing rail services is a matter for British Rail. Each year it receives grant from the Government in recognition of its obligation to provide passenger services. The level of grant is determined on a network-wide basis and it is for British Rail to decide how the resources available to it can best be deployed.
