§ Mr. Matthew TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the level of investment in new school buildings and the repair of existing school buildings in Cornwall.
§ Mr. DunnIn 1988–89 the schools element of the Cornwall authority's prescribed allocation for capital expenditure on county and voluntary controlled schools was £6.274 million. This allocation, which covered 78 per cent. of the authority's submitted plans, reflects the Government's awareness and appreciation of the authority's problems. In addition, Cornwall was allocated £145,000 in respect of work at voluntary aided schools.
