HC Deb 15 July 1988 vol 137 cc415-20W
Mr. Squire

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list (i) grant-related expenditure for capital and current highways work by local authorities in England for 1988–89 and (ii) the budgets for capital and current highways work by local authorities in England for 1988–89.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

Figures for grant-related expenditure and budgets for highways maintenance (including street lighting) for highway authorities in England in 1988–89 are set out in table 1.

Budgets for capital expenditure in 1988–89 are not yet available. The capital allocations for 1988–89 are set out in table 2. The costs of financing them are incorporated with that for the capital programmes for all other services in the GREs for financing new capital expenditure. They are not separately identifiable.
