HC Deb 15 July 1988 vol 137 cc396-7W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what the maximum cash discount under the Housing Act 1980 would now be, uprated in line with house price inflation in the Greater London area.

Mr. Waldegrave

The maximum discount on council house sales would be £43,000 if the figure of £35,000 set in January 1987 were to be raised by the percentage increase in London house prices between the first quarters of 1987 and 1988.

Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to the number of London borough of Camden tenants who applied to buy their homes prior to 23 November 1987 who are still awaiting conveyancing.

Mrs. Roe

The latest statistical return on the council's right-to-buy performance reported 606 cases where completion was pending at the end of May. The returns do not give the dates of the tenants' applications. I am meeting the leader of the council shortly to discuss its handling of sales.
