§ Mr. Douglas HoggA large number of possible sites have been considered in the north-west for new category B prisons, as part of a general site search exercise covering the whole of England and Wales. A formal application for planning clearance has been made in respect of a site at Rochdale; and a written approach has been made to the local planning authority in respect of Prison Department land at Kirkham.
