§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe cause appears to have been traffic from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone joining the M1 at junction 15, adding to the already very heavy traffic flows which are usual on Sunday evenings.
The M1 will be relieved with the completion by 1992 of the M40 extension to Birmingham.
