HC Deb 12 July 1988 vol 137 c141W
Mr. Kennedy

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to alter the existing ownership structure of the west coast railway lines, Fort William to Mallaig and Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

[holding answer 8 July 1988] : I have no such plans. Any proposals to dispose of individual lines are matters in the first instance for British Rail. British Rail provincial sector has assured me it has no proposals for changes affecting these lines.
