Mr. Onslow

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) how many water pollution incidents in England and Wales were caused by farm wastes in each of the last three years for which figures are available; how many of these incidents were classed as serious; how many prosecutions were commenced in respect of these serious incidents; and how many convictions resulted;

(2) what were the main causes of the serious water pollution incidents reported to his Department in each of the last three years for which figures are available in each of the water authority areas in England and Wales; how many prosecutions were commenced in respect of these incidents; and how many convictions resulted.
