To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what action was taken arising out of the Advisory Council on Applied Research and Development report on medical equipment.

Mrs. Currie

The Government's response to the ACARD report, summarising action then being taken or planned on the reports recommendations, was published in February 1987. Since then a wide programme of further improvements has been implemented and other developments in the fields of research, evaluation and equipment management are being vigorously pursued.
