§ Mr. FearnTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in theOfficial Report the number of general hospitals in each district health authority in England and Wales in April 1979, 1983, 1987 and 1988.
§ Mrs. Currie[holding answer 27 June 1988]: I regret cannot give the hon. Member all the information he seeks. The available information is given in the table. Figures for Wales are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
182Wbelow average income statistics, to enable meaningful comparisons, the actual cash incomes received by households are adjusted to reflect varying household size and composition and expressed in terms of individuals in households. National average income per individual, calculated after these adjustments, is shown in the table.
The figures therefore provide a basis for comparisons of relative incomes between individual groups and individual years (as in the published tables); but do not provide an indication of the actual cash incomes of the households concerned.
