HC Deb 12 July 1988 vol 137 cc112-3W
Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many schools in Scotland provide information and teaching on(a) water fluoridation and (b) the quality of drinking water and its effect on the health of the people.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

This information is not held centrally. The relation between fluoridation and the incidence of dental caries has long figured in the ordinary grade biology syllabus and is now also covered in the standard grade science course. Exemplar curricular materials concerning fluoridation for this course have recently been distributed to education authorities.
