§ The Attorney-GeneralAdministrative responsibility for the immigration appellate authorities was transferred to the Lord Chancellor's Department from the Home Office only on 1 April 1987. The cost of the immigration appellate authorities to the Lord Chancellor's Department in 1987–88 was £2,411,088. Details of the cost to the Lord Chancellor's Department of judicial review cases arising from the immigration appeals system could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
