§ Mr. GummerThe future role of organic farming and horticulture will depend on demand in the market place. This is why the Government have placed particular emphasis on the setting of production standards for organic produce which, once agreed, are likely to exert a significant influence on retail sales. In addition, the needs of such production will continue to be considered alongside those of more conventional production systems.
