§ Dr. MarekTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the future sharing of defence costs between the Hong Kong Government and Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. Ian Stewart[holding answer 29 June 1988]: An outline agreement on the future sharing of defence costs in Hong Kong has been concluded between officials of both Governments. The agreement, which provides for an apportionment of costs between the Hong Kong Government and Her Majesty's Government of 65:35, will run from 1 April 1988 to 30 June 1997.
