§ Dr. MawhinneyEstimated expenditure by the education and library boards in the 1988/89 financial year in respect of special education for pupils other than the mentally handicapped, is not yet available. The sum planned for teaching costs paid by my Department, in respect of these pupils is, however, £6.5 million.
356WIn addition a sum of £8.9 million is planned for all recurrent services required for the education of mentally handicapped pupils, including teaching costs and a sum of about £2 million for capital expenditure.
