§ Mr. PageTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will clarify the definition of investments in schedule I to the Financial Services Act in respect of forward contracts and bank lending.
§ Mr. MaudeI have issued a statement giving the Government's view of the effect of certain of the definitions in schedule 1 to the Financial Services Act, defining investments and investment business. This covers the position of forward contracts and bank lending and certain other issues. I have placed a copy of my statement in the Libraries of both Houses.
