§ Mr. Douglas HoggI understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that 531 officers were rostered to police demonstrations and lobbies on 21 January at an additional cost (mainly overtime and catering) of £21,580. A further 248 officers were drafted in from other duties on the day. About 9,000 demonstrators are estimated to have been in attendance.
