HC Deb 26 January 1988 vol 126 c191W
Mr. Fearn

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in the light of Government proposals to encourage health authorities to raise money for themselves, he will make it his policy that any money so raised will not be deducted from present or future revenue or capital allocations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

The overall planning of health services must, of course, take account of all resources available, including those from charges and land sales. We are however emphasising to regional health authorities the need for allocation arrangements which ensure that districts see clear benefit from successful income generation schemes.
