HL Deb 26 January 1988 vol 492 c621WA
Lord Molloy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, following the report of scientists and civil emergency officers in South Yorkshire, they will give new instructions to local authorities on civil defence against a nuclear attack.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

The Government have not received a copy of the report. TheEmergency Planning Guidance to Local Authorities which was issued in 1985 gives comprehensive guidance to assist local authorities in meeting their statutory obligations to make plans for civil defence. There are no plans to amend the guidance.
