To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on recent progress in the fast breeder reactor programme.

§ Mr. Parkinson
The United Kingdom's fast reactor programme has made some impressive advances in recent years. The R and D has led to significant design improvements. From the current financial year the CEGB has become a co-funder of the programme.
