§ Mr. Peter BottomleyACTRAM is an independent body appointed to advise the Secretary of State for Transport and the chairman of the Health and Safety Commission on major issues relating to the safe transport of radioactive materials. It has no connection with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
ACTRAM's first report ("Transport of Radioactive Materials for Medical and Industrial Use") was published earlier this month. A copy has been placed in the House of Commons Library.
A second report, dealing with quality assurance and compliance assurance arrangements for the United Kingdom regulations covering the transport of radioactive materials, is expected to be published in the spring.
