§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list in theOfficial Report in rank order starting with the local authority with the highest proportion of rent arrears, the total arrears of rent outstanding for domestic properties owned by each English local authority at the latest available date, together with the percentage figure which their arrears represent of each authority's total rent roll and the number of tenants with arrears of more than four weeks.
§ Mr. WaldegraveI have today arranged to be placed in the Library tables setting out the figures on the cumulative arrears of rent owed to each local authority in England as at 1 April 1987, together with the percentage those arrears represent of the rent collectable. The authorities are ranked according to the percentage figure. Information on the number of tenants with arrears of more than four weeks is not collected centrally.
