To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the increase in the waiting list for inpatients in Wales(a) between March 1978 and March 1979 and (b) between March 1986 and March 1987.

The in-patient waiting list in Wales increased by 4,126 between March 1978 and March 1979. It decreased by 1,053 between March 1986 and March 1987.
