To ask the Prime Minister if she will seek to raise the issue of the implications of tax harmonisation at the next meeting of the European Council; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

No. The European Commission's proposals for tax approximation are being dealt with by Economic and Finance Ministers. They have commissioned an evaluation of the Commission's proposals from the Economic Policy Committee and will discuss the implications of the proposals in the light of the Committee's report.
