17. Mr. Butler

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what measures he proposes to increase the commercial efficiency of the Property Services Agency.

21. Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what future role he sees for the Property Services Agency; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ridley

Deloitte Haskins and Sells have reported to me proposing adoption in PSA of commercial accounts as a prelude to establishing a trading fund. I hope to reach decisions on these proposals before long in the light of consultations with my colleagues.

37. Mr. Tom Clarke

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to increase the level of funding of the Property Services Agency.

Mr. Chope

PSA's expenditure on civil accommodation is planned to increase by £60 million in 1988–89 and £74 million in 1989–90 above the levels in last year's public expenditure White Paper.
