To ask the Secretary of state for Employment how many companies were prosecuted for infringement of Wages Council Regulations(a) in Clwyd and (b) in Wales in 1986.

In 1986 there were no prosecutions in Wales for offences under wages council legislation. In 1987, one employer in Clwyd was prosecuted. There were no other prosecutions in Wales.
