- On-board axle weighers
- Assessment of new enforcement weighing techniques
- Assessment of weighpads for enforcement

- Monitoring the extent of overloading
- Use of automatic methods to improve lorry management planning and enforcement.
There is no work on enforcement of the drivers' hours regulations in the current TRRL research programme.
