§ Mrs. RumboldThe 1988 school teachers' pay and conditions document gives LEAs discretion in certain circumstances over the scale point on which an individual teacher should be paid. It also allows LEAs to award incentive allowances, which may be given to teachers in shortage subjects or hard to fill posts, in relation to the assumption of extra responsibilities or in recognition of classroom excellence.
