To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give the percentage change in the number of administrative staff in the National Health Service in Wales since 1979.

Between September 1979 and September 1987 there was a 13.9 per cent. increase in the whole-time equivalents of all administrative and clerical staff in the NHS in Wales.
