§ Mr. Alan ClarkMy right hon. and noble Friend has recently received a letter from the Commission stating its view that, in the present state of Community law, there would be no justification, as far as the free circulation of goods is concerned, for treating Nissan UK production differently from other cars produced in the Community. United Kingdom-built Nissan cars are currently being distributed without obstruction in all their EC markets, and I trust that, in the light of the Commission's statement, exports will continue to go ahead smoothly.
