HC Deb 18 January 1988 vol 125 cc504-5W
Dr. Thomas

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what is his practice towards responding to statements or accusations made on television, radio or in the Press on those areas for which his Department has responsibility.

Mr. Parkinson

I consider carefully any statement that comes to my attention and make any appropriate response.

Dr. Thomas

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list any occasions since May 1979 when Ministers in his Department have made statements in Parliament, or answered parliamentary questions, arising from information on nuclear energy matters broadcast on television or radio, or published in the Press.

Mr. Michael Spicer

Statements made to the House have reflected important developments in Government policy, matters of interest expressed by Members or areas of obvious public concern.
