HC Deb 18 January 1988 vol 125 cc531-2W
Mr. Spearing

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the number of dwellings built by London Transport, or its predecessors, for occupation by its employees, and, of that number, how many have been sold by London Regional Transport or its subsidiaries.

Mr. David Mitchell

When London Regional Transport was formed in June 1984, it inherited 950 residential units. Since then, 790 have been disposed of. Of the remaining 160, the sale of a further 17 is currently in hand. Information about the housing stock held by LRT's predecessors is not readily available, but it is thought by LRT that the number of acquisitions and disposals between 1947 and 1984 was relatively small.
