§ Mr. MoynihanFurther to my answer of 10 January, the provisions of the European Community's framework directive on the discharge of dangerous substances to the aquatic environment (76/464/EEC) prohibit the disclosure of information relating to particular undertakings acquired by my Department specifically for the purposes of transmission to the European Commission under that directive. However, much of the information requested is likely to be available on the public register maintained by the North West water authority, in whose area all of the discharges referred to occur.
