HC Deb 15 January 1988 vol 125 c424W
Mr. Hood

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland pursuant to the reply to the hon. Member for Norfolk, South-West (Mrs. Shephard) of 17 December 1987,Official Report, column 723, how much of the funds for the environmentally sensitive areas will go to the Scottish areas.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The level of expenditure in Scottish environmentally sensitive areas will depend on the number of farmers wishing to join the scheme. In 1988–89 when three new areas will be introduced, it is estimated that expenditure could be about £1.5 million.
