§ Mr. ButcherIn the Copyright, Designs and Patents Bill which has now completed its Committee stage in another place, we have already proposed a new trade mark offence, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment, to deal with counterfeiting. The offence would apply in any case where a trade mark is fraudulently applied to goods, packaging, labelling or advertising material, either for gain or with intent to cause loss to another person.
