§ Mr. EggarAIDS is a worldwide problem: 130 countries had reported AIDS cases to the World Health Organisation as of 12 January 1988. The DHSS leaflet, "Protect Your Health Abroad" gives general health advice (including advice on AIDS) for people travelling overseas.
The travel inquiries unit of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's consular department can provide similar advice, and where available official information issued by other countries. Travellers are advised to contact the mission in London of the country which they are visiting for more specific information or on arrival to contact the nearest British mission which can usually provide a list of local medical practitioners, but cannot, of course, provide medical advice.
