§ Mr. Anthony CoombsTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has any plans to provide more funding for a public education campaign on Third world issues.
§ Mr. Chris PattenI have decided to increase the Overseas Development Administration's annual grant to the Centre for World Development Education from £100,000 to £125,000 for the financial years 1988–89 and 1989–90. The Scottish Education and Action for Development also receives an annual grant of £6,000, and recently I agreed a contribution of £70,000 to the Council of Europe's public awareness campaign on north/south interdependence.
The widespread distribution to schools last year of our booklet "British Aid" is to be followed this year with the ODA's first video for schools on the aid programme.
